| Hospitality is the focus of the
Retreat Center at the Cathedral Center of St. Paul.
The Retreat Center includes 16 guest rooms
featuring bathrooms that are private, or shared by two adjoining bedrooms.
Rooms are either single- or double-occupancy configurations, and four rooms
are designed for guests with physical disabilities. Groups of up to 28
people can be comfortably accommodated.
Multipurpose areas include two conference
rooms and a breakout room, augmented by the Cathedral Center Church, Lazarus
Chapel, the Great Hall, the Christian Education Resource Center, the
Cathedral Bookstore, and varied program offices. The kitchen/dining area
provides all the comforts of home including coffee service and refrigerator.
Three meals per day are included in the cost for each guest.
Ample parking below the Center is secured at
all times.
The Retreat Center fulfills retired Bishop
Frederick Borsch's original concept for the complex: "I envision our Center
as a place of great hospitality -- a place where we can welcome each other
and guests," the bishop wrote while the Cathedral Center was in the early
planning stages. "It will be a place of beauty where we can walk and sit and
pray, a place set apart and still in the midst of a busy lively neighborhood
and attached to an active, committed parish family."
These goals have been realized thanks to the
dedication and caring of the Retreat Center staff, headed by Director Rebecca
Merwin.
